To everyone who thinks that the world will end with the inauguration of our new president (excuse me while I go gag in a corner), you're probably right. China or Russia will see this as their chance to invade, or Trump will get drunk and order every nuke this country has to be ejected onto Mexico or every Muslim country in the world. And if you think otherwise, then stop reading this and go be ignorant somewhere else.
We, as Americans, have to keep up hope. We can not let our country end with this Islamaphobic, Racest manchild. We need to be stong and do what is right for us. Be loud with our opinions and shut out the ones that are bad for us. Be active: not as someone who is politically active, but as a human being with feelings and opinions. No one, no matter poor or rich, has a right to tell you your opinion is wrong unless it hurts yourself or someone else.
Make no mistake; this IS our fault. And when something bad happens (and dont be ignorant: something will happen) because of Trump, it will relflect on us. We were the ones dumb enough to listen to his ideas and think they are good ones. And before you get on my case about a few bad apples in a pile of good ones, look at who we voted for. America, as a whole, is at fault, no matter who says what.
But the road doesn't have to end here. You have an opinion. Your opinions DO matter. So if you feel something, say it. Do whatever you feel makes you comfortable. If you don't like who is about to become our leader, say something. Participate in protests. Join an organization that helps people fight opinions like Donald Trump's.
I'm not encouraging violence (although if someone does off him, I'm not denying I will cheer happily) and if you do meet a Donald Trump supporter who makes you angry or attempts to challenge you into something physical, don't engage in an argument. Be grateful that you were smart enough to see that you found the cause of the cancer and are attempting to cure it. These people who encourage getting sicker? They'll die off quicker than you will. And by not dropping down to their level , you know you're better than them.
I also have a message to all Donald Trump supporters as well: I'm not upset at you. I'm not angry. I don't have the urge to find every single one of you and get into a physical fight with you. I simply feel sorry for you that you agree with his ideas and approve of them. Because by voting for him, that is exactly what you are really saying. You approve of his talk about Mexicans and Muslims. You approve of what he thinks about middle class citizens. You're proving that there is a chance for mankind to take steps back. And because of your support of this man, people will get hurt. That will be on your shoulders, so be ready for the guilt.
To everyone: hope is a thing kept alive by us. And if we do not try to do better by ourselves, we can not do better by others. Be strong and remember: your opinions matter.
